Great Results in the ACM-ICPC local selection.

2014-07-16

Last Friday happened the Japanese local contest in the 2014-2015 edition of the ACM-ICPC programming contest. This is the first stage in the international programming competition -- well ranking teams in this stage progress to the Asia Regionals that will happen in October, and well ranked teams in the Regionals go to the World Finals, next year in Morocco.

This year, Tsukuba University participated with 5 teams. All of the teams solved 3 problems or more in the contest. Two of the teams ranked high enough to progress to the Regional Contest: Nekonyaso, which ranked 3rd overall with 6 problems solved, and ITF, which ranked 23rd overall with 5 problems solved. The other participating teams were: "Is the order (n\^2)*(2\^n) ?" (4 problems, 27th place), ZEYO (3 problems, 45th place), negick_zzz (3 problems, 50th place).

This was a great result, and the Tsukuba teams have been improving every year. Here is hoping that the trend continues in future editions of the contest.
